Charity Delighted with run response

AN ABERDEEN charity has been overwhelmed by the response to their latest charity drive.

Alfie Milne Lymphangiomatosis Trust joined forces with Apex Tubulars at the start of the year and set a target of getting 100 people to sign up for the Run Balmoral 5k in April.

It is hoped that more than £5,000 will be raised for the charity in the build up and aftermath of the event.

The trust was set up to support the ongoing illness of five year old Alfie Milne.

Alfie suffers from a rare disease of the lymphatic system known as Lymphangiomatosis, which affects just a handful of people in the UK.

All monies raised will go towards funding important research into the rare condition.

With more than two months to go, they have already exceeded expectations with almost 200 runners set to sprint to the finish.
