Apex Tubulars sponsored a tree-planting day as part of one of the biggest nature-restoration projects ever seen in the Cairngorms. 15 volunteers planted 400 native trees on the banks of the River Dee, just west of Aboyne. It is part of the Million Trees Campaign, helping save the river’s salmon by providing cooling shade at a time of rising water temperatures.
Ronnie Grant, of Apex, said: “It was an amazing chance to do something for the environment on our doorstep, and it was hugely enjoyable. I would recommend sponsoring this project to any company wanting to make a difference.”
Sandy Bremner, who is Chair of the River Dee Trust, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Apex and friends for their hard work and the company’s continuing financial support. This work is helping to save iconic species from the threat of extinction, restore habitat lost for 2000 years, and reboot the whole ecosystem for the sake of future generations.”
